Swampwater Syndicate

Remy Boudreaux, Cal Tran, and Rome Hebert grew up within a few miles of each other on the Louisiana Gulf, in houses that took water. Their childhoods were measured in high-water marks: photos kept in a sack on top of the fridge, sandbags stacked to the porch light, a generator humming on one cord for the whole street. The insurance men talked like the water was their fault, so the three of them built their own bank out of bass. Their doctrine is one line: they do not do warnings, they do arrivals. The flood that raised them is the flood they bring to every stage.
