Before the decks, Theo played bass in funk bands that were always the best act on the bill and never the ones who got paid; he learned that the bassline is the floor everybody else stands on and nobody applauds. He became a DJ-producer to build floors on purpose: deep house and funk where the low end is architecture, not decoration. His music exists because the groove is the ground — he builds the floor and lets everyone else be the skyline.
